The Castlerock Experience

Castlerock Golf Club offers two distinct links courses, each providing its own flavour of challenge, scenery, and charm:

Mussenden Links – Championship-Calibre Golf

The Mussenden Links Course is the club’s flagship—a traditional championship links originally crafted by Ben Sayers and Harry Colt, and later refined by Dr. Martin Hawtree in 2017 and 2019. With its rolling dunes, undulating fairways, and ever-present coastal winds, this 18-hole test rewards strategic shot-making and precise play.
Standout holes include the infamous 4th hole, “Leg O’ Mutton”—a daunting 200-yard par 3 bordered by a railway on the right and a burn on the left, with a raised green that demands accuracy and nerve.

The Bann Course – A Scenic Nine-Hole Treasure

The Bann Course is a delightful nine-hole layout that combines links character with a shorter, more relaxed format. It’s ideal for golfers seeking a scenic, less time-consuming round, while still enjoying the natural beauty and quality playability that Castlerock is known for. The par-5 signature hole is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in Irish golf.
